Town of Shutesbury 2014 Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan

The Shutesbury Emergency Management Team (EMT), in partnership with the Franklin Regional Council of Governments (FRCOG) Planning Department, has developed the Town of Shutesbury Draft 2014 Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan.  Funding for the plan development has been provided through a grant from the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan - Dec. 2014 Draft

Once the plan is approved by FEMA and adopted by the Town, Shutesbury will be eligible for state and federal grant monies to fund pre- and post-disaster mitigation projects to reduce the impact of future natural and man-made disasters.  These funds are co-administered on behalf of FEMA by MEMA and the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR).

Copies of the draft plan are available for review and public comment at the Shutesbury Town Hall located at 1 Cooleyville Rd., and at the M.N. Spear Memorial Library located at 10 Cooleyville Rd. (Use link above for a digital copy.) On December 16, the Selectboard will be taking comments during their Selectboard meeting at the town hall at 8:00am. The comment period ends on December 19, 2014.  Comments should be directed to Becky Torres, Town Administrator, at 413-259-1214 or townadmin -at- shutesbury.org and/or Pat Smith, FRCOG Senior Land Use Planner, at (413) 774-3167 x134 or psmith -at- frcog.org
