Shutesbury Board of Selectmen December 16, 2008 Meeting Minutes Members present: Chairman Rebecca Torres, Ralph Armstrong and Al Springer. Also Present: Town Administrator David C. Dann and Administrative Secretary Leslie Bracebridge. Meeting opened at 8:10 P.M. Topics 1. Review of the ice storm/state of emergency. Selectmen plan to discuss new ideas for managing emergencies developed as a result of this event. 2. Bidding and locking in heating oil prices. At 8:20 PM a motion was made and seconded to go into executive session for reason number 3 and to re-open in public session: Springer – aye, Armstrong – aye and Torres – aye. At 8:58 PM Select Board resumed open session 3. Al Springer reviewed the options for paying the up-front costs for the ice storm clean-up. Selectmen agreed to go into the red, Selectmen had declared a state of emergency at 4:00 AM Friday, December 12, 2008. Al would like letters of thanks be sent to the National Guard and the Department of Conservation and Recreation. Meeting adjourned at 9:08 P.M.
