1330 Traffic Stop, Pelham Hill Rd. - Citation issued for speeding.

1430 Traffic Stop, Leverett Rd. - Citation issued for speeding.

2040 Medical Assist, Merrill Dr. - Officer assisted Shutesbury and Amherst medical 
responders; patient transported by AFD ambulance.

2050 MVA, Shutesbury Rd., Leverett - Officer assisted State Police with a single vehicle 
accident in Leverett.


17 January

1020 Assist., In-Station - Officer assisted a motorist who had run out of gas.

1300 Traffic Stop, Leverett Rd. - Citation issued for Improper Display of Plate.

1530 Traffic Stop, Pelham Hill Rd. - Citation issued for speeding.

1550 Traffic Stop, West Pelham Rd. - Citation issued for speeding.

1705 Assist Other Dept., Whately PD - Officer assisted Whately police in an investigative matter.

0700 DMV, Cooleyville Rd. - Abandoned vehicle obstructing plowing was towed from Cooleyville Rd. 
at request of Highway Dept.


19 January

0815 Assist Motorist, Prescott Rd. - Officer assisted motorist who had skidded off road due to 
road conditions.

1350 MVA, Wendell Rd. - Single vehicle accident w/ no injury; vehicle towed from scene.

1910 Assist, Prescott Rd. - Officer & Highway crew assisted motorist with stuck vehicle due to 
road conditions.

1940 Traffic Stop, Leverett Rd. - Warning issued for defective equipment.

1945 Info from Other Dept., Amherst PD - Amherst Police referred information regarding past 
domestic dispute which occurred in Shutesbury.

1950 MVA, Locks Pond Rd. - Motorist called to report hitting a dog on Locks Pond Rd.; animal 
had left the area.

2015 MVA, Shutesbury Rd., Leverett - Officer responded to a report of a single vehicle accident, 
no injury, in the "S" curves. Responding officer found the accident had occurred in Leverett. 
Leverett PD notified and assisted; vehicle towed.

2040 Domestic A&B, In-Station. - Party in station to file a report of domestic assault.


20 January

0215 Arrest, Cushman Rd. - John Discola, 42 Cushman Rd., was arrested on charges of Domestic 
Assault & Battery, Malicious Destruction of Property; over $250, and Kidnapping.  Shutesbury 
police were assisted by Leverett and State Police in making the arrest.

1930 Info to Other Dept. - Case information provided to Amherst and Leverett Police.

2210 Fire Alarm, Montague Rd. - Officer assisted Shutesbury Fire in responding to a reported 
fire alarm on Montague Rd.; unfounded.


21 January

0700 Road Safety, Old Wendell Rd. - Town wide notice of Old Wendell RD being closed to thru 
traffic due to tree trimming operations.

1755 Summons Service, Montague Rd. - Officer delivered summons in hand to a resident of Montague Rd.


22 January

1330 Medical Assist, Wendell Rd. - Officers assisted Shutesbury and Amherst medical responders 
at a Wendell Rd. residence.

2000 Info from Other Dept., Manchester CT. - Officers received information from Manchester PD 
related to investigation.


23 January

1035 Traffic Stop, Leverett Rd. - Citation issued for speeding.

1325 Traffic Stop, West Pelham Rd. - Citation issued for speeding and failure to change address.

1550 DMV, Randall Rd. - Vehicle operator requested towing assistance after vehicle became stuck 
in snow at Town boat ramp.

2030 Info from Other Dept., Montague PD - Officer checked on a vehicle on Town Farm Rd. at request 
of Montague PD; info forwarded.


24 January

1450 Assistance, Locks Pond Rd. - Officer assisted DMV snowmobile on Locks Pond Rd.

1555 Info from Other Dept., Montague PD - Officer delivered information to Town Farm Rd. resident 
from Montague PD.

1700 Road Hazard, In-Town - Officer requested Highway Dept. for snowy/icy road conditions.

1750 MVA, Leverett Rd. - Officer responded to a reported two vehicle accident in the "S" curves 
of Leverett Rd.  While investigating, a second accident occurred in the same location involving 
two additional vehicles.  Road temporarily closed with assistance from State Police.

1815 MVA, Prescott Rd. - Officer investigated a single vehicle accident on Prescott Rd.; no injuries.


25 January

1845 Assistance, West Pelham Rd. - Resident requested an officer at a West Pelham Rd residence; 
assistance rendered.


26 January

0820 Traffic Stop, Leverett Rd. - Citation issued for speeding.

1130 Traffic Stop, West Pelham Rd. - Citations issued for expired inspection sticker.

2040 Traffic Stop, Leverett Rd. - Citation issued for speeding.


28 January

0720 Assist. Other Dept., Rte. 202 - Officer responded with State police for a reported car fire, 
Rte 202, Pelham.  Vehicle located in Shutesbury with mechanical issue; vehicle towed.

1535 Animal Complaint, Wendell Rd. - Resident reported concern for a fox in the area, possibly sick.  
No further reports.

1540 Traffic Stop, Wendell Rd. - Citation issued for expired inspection sticker.

1620 Hazard, Leverett Rd. - Vehicle operator reported windshield cracked by debris form Town sanding 
truck.  Accident report filed, Highway Dept.  notified.

1625 MVA, Leverett Rd. - Officer responded to a reported vehicle off the roadway due to snowy 
road conditions.  Vehicle located on Shutesbury Rd, Leverett; assisted Leverett PD.

1700 Traffic Stop, Leverett Rd. - Citation issued for passing violation.

1740 Assist Other Dept, Leverett PD - Shutesbury officer assisted Leverett police at an accident scene.

1825 Assist Other Dept., Sunderland PD - Shutesbury officer responded to an alarm activation in 
Sunderland while Sunderland officers were investigating a separate request for police assistance.


29 January

1000 Hazard, Montague Rd. - At request of the Highway Dept., tree crews were moved off Montague Rd. 
so roads could be plowed.

1100 Trespass/Restraining Order, Wendell Rd. - Resident advised of updated trespass and restraining 
order from the Northampton District Court.


30 January

0840 Community Policing, Elementary School - Shutesbury Fire Dept. pancake breakfast.

1200 Assist, In- Station - Resident assisted with firearms license renewal.

1415 Town Wide Notice - Message sent regarding temporary closure of Montague Rd. on Monday, February 1, 
during tree trimming operations.

1710 Noise Complaint, Lake Wyola - Resident reported erratic operation of snowmobiles at Lake Wyola; GOA.


31 January

1335 Suspicious Activity, Lake Wyola - Officer responded to Lake Wyola after it was reported that four 
vehicles were on the lake ice operating in an unsafe manner.  Officer located and identified all vehicle 
operators.
