01 Dec.
0810 Traffic Stop, Leverett Rd.- Operator issued citation for speeding
1800 Hazard, Pratt Corner Rd.- Report of tree down blocking road.
Unfounded.
1845 DMV, Cushman Rd.- Report of disabled car on Cushman Rd near the
Amherst line. Responding officer found a vehicle off the road.
Vehicle removed by Clark's Towing.
02 December
0945 Hazard, Locks Pond Rd. - Report of power line downed by fallen
tree. Fire Department and Electric Company assisted and made
repairs. Traffic temporarily diverted to King Rd.
1135 Assist Citizen, Baker Rd.- Baker Rd. resident reported no phone
service. Investigation by officer indicated problem was limited
to the reporting party's line.
1710 MVA, Locks Pond Rd.- Officer responded to a reported motor
vehicle accident. Investigation by officer revealed that a car
struck a deer as it crossed the road. No injuries to vehicle
occupants, deer removed from roadway.
2020 Medical Assist, West Pelham Rd.- Officer responded to a W. Pelham
Rd. residence to assist the fire department with an individual
who suffered an allergic reaction.
2120 Alarm Activation, Elementary School- Officer responded to
intrusion alarm at the Elementary school. Building checked
secure by officer and building custodian.
2145 Suspicious Activity, Cushman Rd.- Resident on Cushman reported
minor property damage. Request for extra patrols.
03 December
1215 Traffic Stop, Leverett Rd.-Operator issued citation for speeding.
1230 Assist Citizen, Station- Officer assisted visitor seeking
directions to an address in town.
1310 Traffic Stop, West Pelham Rd.- Operator issued citation for
speeding
1800 Medical Assist, Rte 202- Dispatch reported a caller on Rte 202
seeking medical attention for possible food poisoning. Officer
located motorist and assisted Shutesbury and Amherst medical
units.
05 December
0715 Alarm Activation, Elementary School- Officer responded to the
elementary School for a reported intrusion alarm. Investigating
officer, after speaking with staff, determined that the
activation was accidental.
1100 Other P.D., In Station- Party came into station to report they
had been reported missing in another town and wished to inform
police that they were staying with friends. Officer notified
police in reporting jurisdiction.
1300 Animal Complaint, Lake Rd.- Resident reported a single sheep was
loose in the neighborhood. Officer identified sheep's owner as a
resident of Leverett and notified.
06 Dec.
1035 Request for Assistance, Baker Rd.- Resident concerned for
friend's safety requested police and medical services.
Assistance rendered.
1345 Citizen Complaint, Leverett Rd.- Resident requested an officer to
investigate unreasonable in area. Officer spoke with involved
resident, issue resolved.
07 Dec.
1205 Traffic Stop, Rte 202- Operator issued citation for speeding.
1220 Traffic Stop, Rte 202- Operator issued citation for speeding
09 Dec.
1300 Animal Complaint, Lake Wyola- Resident reported 2 dogs on ice in
center of lake. Caller then stated that only one dog could be
seen and thought second animal may have fallen through ice.
Shutesbury and Leverett Fire/Rescue responded with dive teams.
Search failed to locate second animal.
10 Dec.
1245 Medical Assist, Wendell Rd.- Officer responded to Medic Alert
alarm, resident stated activation was accidental.
1320 Traffic Stop, Leverett Rd.- Operator issued citation for
speeding.
1325 Medical Assist, King Rd.- Officer responded to a Lake Wyola
residence to assist Shutesbury and Amherst EMS. Patient refused
transport by Amherst EMS and was transported by family member.
14 Dec.
0745 MVA, Wendell Rd. - Officer investigated single car accident, no
injuries, report filed.
1050 Traffic Stop, Rte 202- Operator issued citation for speeding.
1230 Traffic Stop, Leverett Rd.- Operator issued citation for
speeding.
15 Dec.
0830 Assist Other Agency, Town Hall- Officers assisted Board of Health
with Emergency Management exercise.
