August 15 - August 31, 2006

August 16
           
1000 911 Emergency Call, Baker Road- Officer dispatched to residence
     on Baker Rd. for a reported 911 call.  Caller reported small fire
     in kitchen.  Police responded and found fire had been
     extinguished by homeowner. Officer determined no Fire Department
     response required.
 
     
August 18
           
1130 Animal Complaint, W. Pelham Rd- Resident complaining of
     unrestrained dog in neighborhood.  Investigated and referred to
     Dog Officer.
 
1410 Animal Complaint, January Hills Rd- Dog found trapped on pool
     cover of residence.  Officer removed dog from pool, returned to
     owner.
 

August 19
           
1815 Boat Complaint, Lake Wyola- Report of motor boat being operated
     in unsafe manner.  Responding officer observed no unsafe
     operation.
 

August 21
 
1420 Traffic Stop, Wendell Rd- Officer issued motorist citation for
     speeding.
 
1545 Traffic Stop, Prescott Rd.- Officer issued motorist citation for
     speeding.
 

August 22
 
1730 Traffic Stop, Leverett Rd- Officer issued citation to motorist
     for speeding.
 
1930 House Checks, Various Locations- Officers conducted several
     residence checks at request of home owners.
 

August 23
 
1700 911 Emergency Hang-Up, Locks Pond Rd- Officer responded to
     residence on Locks Pond RD for a reported 911 hang-up.
     Responding officer spoke with resident who stated call was made
     by accident and that they have experienced ongoing telephone line
     problems.
 
1730 Traffic Stop, Wendell rd- Citation issued to motorist for
     speeding and registration violation.
 
 
August 24
 
1700 Suspicious Activity, West Pelham Rd- Resident reported hearing
     gunshots from area off West Pelham Rd.  Gone on arrival
 
2010 911 Emergency Hang-Up, Leverett Rd- Resident requested to speak
     with an officer regarding possible child abuse which caller had
     witnessed earlier.  Based on information received, DSS advised,
     report filed.
 

August 25
           
1630 Assist Other P.D., Leverett- Court paperwork forwarded to
     Leverett P.D.
 
2130 Disabled M/V, Rte 202-County Dispatch reported a disabled vehicle
     on Rte. 202; gone on arrival.
 
     
August 26
 
1810 Liquor Checks, Shutesbury Athletic Club- Officer conducted checks
     of the S.A.C.  during Club Benefit function; no violations found.
 
1920 Suspicious Activity, January Hills Rd- Resident reported sound of
     gunshots in area.  Responding officer located two area residents
     who admitted to discharging fireworks.  Warning issued.
 

August 27
 
1710 Suspicious Activity, Lake Area- Resident reported that her
     vehicle had been scratched while they were away.  Investigation
     revealed that damage was caused by falling branches.
 

August 28
 
0645 Animal Complaint, West Pelham Rd- Officer dispatched to
     investigate report of dog being hit by a car.  Investigation
     revealed that the dog had not been hit but was recovering from
     previous injury.  Dog returned to owner.
           
1830 Fire Alarm, Wendell Rd.- Police and fire dispatched to residence
     on Wendell Rd for a reported fire alarm sounding.  Investigation
     by Fire Dept. indicated alarm was caused by faulty smoke detector
     in unoccupied part of building; landlord notified.
 

August 29
1730 Summons Service, Pratt Corner Rd- Summons delivered in hand to
     resident of Pratt Corner Rd.
 

August 30
           
1615 911 Emergency Hang-Up, Shore Dr.- Dispatch reported hang in 911
     Emergency line.  Responding officer spoke with resident who
     stated call was accidental.
 

August 30
           
0730 Hazard, Rte 202- Dispatch reported a large branch down on
     southbound side of Rte. 202.  Officer assisted Mass Highway with
     removal.
 
1730 B&E, W. Pelham Rd- Resident reported that 27" flat screen
     television was taken from house between 3:30 and 5:30 pm.
     Investigation pending.
 

August 31
           
2100 Vandalism, January Hill Rd- Resident reported that their mail box
     was knocked down between 4-5:30pm
