Welcome to Shutesbury, a rural town in Franklin County, MA, established as Roadtown in 1735 and incorporated as Shutesbury in 1761, named for Governor Samuel Shute. This is the official town Web site, maintained by the town's Web Committee.

What's New?

  • Celebrate Shutesbury Saturday, September 20th, 10am-3pm; rain or shine. Volunteers are needed in two-hour shifts to help with children's activities and under the tent. Contact David C. Dann (259-1214 or townadmin -at- shutesbury.org) if you are interested.
  • The Select Board has started a local market for growers, artists, and artisans. It will be held every Saturday in August and September, behind Town Hall from 8:30-11am. Interested participants please contact David C. Dann at Town Hall (259-1214). Click here for more information.
