Shutesbury Market
The Select Board is starting a local market for growers, artists, and artisans. It will be every Saturday starting August 2nd, 2008 behind Town Hall, 8:30am to 11am. Interested participants, please contact David C. Dann at Town Hall (259-1214). The effort is to provide an opportunity for folks to share and sell what they produce, make, etc. without having to travel very far. This is a chance to buy and sell local items and produce in Shutesbury.
The market will be set up on the grass behind the parking lot at the back of Town Hall. Food related items on one side and crafts and arts on the other side. A limited number of tables and chairs are available. Please help us plan the space by letting us know what you would like to sell - vegetables, flowers, pottery, or other goods and how you will set up. Marked spaces will be provided as well as garbage containers. Please be responsible for cleaning up your area at the end of the morning.
This will be a weather-permitting event from 8:30am to 11am. There will be no fee this year. Future fees will be evaluated over the winter based on town expenses. This notice is to alert everyone about the market. If you have thoughts to share about the market please send them to me before July 29th. After July 29th I will be on vacation until August 11th. Becky Torres, Select Board Chair will plan on coordinating the effort for the first three Saturdays, August 2nd, 9th, and 16th. Her email is peacerules at verizon.net.
